NETFLIX’S Must-watch in April 2019 – Part 1

1. FRIDAY THE 13TH – APRIL 1

How about starting this April with an American horror thriller Friday the 13th, 2009.  Netflix is streaming this slasher movie on April 1st.  The film was directed by Marcus Nispel and written by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift.  It is a sequel of the Friday the 13th film series, which began in 1980. This film follows Clay Miller (Jared Padalecki) as he searches for his missing sister, Whitney (Amanda Righetti), who is captured by Jason Voorhees (Derek Mears) while camping in woodland at Crystal Lake.

 

 

2. LAKEVIEW TERRACE – APRIL 1

Lakeview Terrace is a 2008 American crime thriller film directed by Neil LaBute, co-produced by Will Smith, and starring Samuel L. Jackson, Patrick Wilson, and Kerry Washington. Jackson plays a prejudiced LAPD police officer who terrorizes his new next-door neighbors because they are an interracially married couple. Enjoy the mind-boggling acting of Jackson in his role as a taunting racist neighbor with a cunning mind.

3. LEGACY-SERIES-SEASON 1 – APRIL 5

Good news for the legacy fans.  Netflix is going to stream Season1 from April 5th.  A fun and fast-paced addition to the CW’s stable of supernatural high school series. 17-year-old Hope Mikaelson (Danielle Rose Russell) and Alaric Saltzman’s twins, Lizzie and Josie Saltzman are some of the students at The Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted.

 

4. UNICORN STORE – APRIL 5

Brie Larson‘s directorial debut Unicorn Store that premiered at the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival is coming back on Netflix.  A highly relatable movie with funny sequences that you would actually enjoy forgetting the logic.

 

5. NEW GIRL-SERIES- SEASON7 –APRIL 10

The final season 7 of your favorite American television sitcom Newgirl will be aired on April 10. It has a total of 8 binge-worthy episodes!

 

6. BLACK SUMMER – APRIL 11

Viewers who miss  Z nation terribly have a reason to continue to latch on to Netflix as there is another new television series on the zombie apocalypse. The first season consists of 8 episodes.  Complete strangers work together to survive the worst zombie invasion and struggle to find their loved ones. Season 1 of Black Summer premieres April 11 on Netflix!

 

7. WHO WOULD YOU TAKE TO A DESERTED ISLAND – APRIL 12

Netflix has announced a new original production in Spain. The film will be dubbed in English. As intriguing as the title sounds the story goes like this…Four friends are celebrating their last night together in the apartment they’ve shared for years. What starts out as a fun-filled night of partying takes an unexpected turn that will change the characters’ lives.

 

8. THE PERFECT DATE- APRIL 12

This is an American rom-com. To earn money for college, a high schooler launches an app offering his services as a fake date. But when real feelings emerge, things get complicated.  Watch cute Noah Centenio play Brooks and gorgeous Camila Mendes as Shelby.  Don’t miss a fresh teen movie this spring.

 

9. THE SILENCE – APRIL 12

Up for a mind-numbing horror flick this spring.  Well. Buckle up to experience the horror of human hunting by deadly, primeval species which have bred for decades in the pitch darkness of a vast underground cave system, hunting only with their acute hearing.  Though there are plot similarities between A Quiet Place and The Silence the later brings its own star power with Stanley Tucci, Kiernan Shipka, Miranda Otto and John Corbett making it a must-watch.

 

10. NO GOOD NICK – APRIL 15

This is an American comedy series starring Melissa Joan Hart and Sean Astin in the lead roles.  The storyline itself catches the viewers attention as its quiet enough for a rib-tickling time. A family finds their lives turned upside down when a teenage con artist shows up on their doorstep, claiming she’s a distant relative.
