HBO Chief Confirms Friends Reunion This Spring!

The Chief of HBO revealed the good news to the fans

Finally! The long wait is gonna get over this Spring. Yes, the much-awaited reunion of Friends on HBO Max is officially confirmed to release this spring. The Chief of HBO revealed the good news to the fans who were disappointed by the delay in the release which was initially scheduled to hit the TV screens in March 2020.

I don’t know exactly. I would imagine maybe they’re doing some bits here and there. But yes, the idea is that they would be together. The COVID situation has been complicated — not just for this, but for television production across the board. So we’re kind of dealing with that as it comes, but it will be this spring, said the HBO Chief.

The massive-hit story of six friends, Monica, Rachel, Phoebe, Chandler, Ross, and Joey, juggling everyday life in New York City will be back with a bang. So when the series moved to HBO Max and the streaming service was planning on doing an unscripted reunion episode to go alongside the ten seasons when HBO Max launched in May of last year, there was obvious excitement surrounding the project.

‘Friends’ Cast to be Back for a Special on HBO Max!

March 2020

One of the successful and most-watched series from 1994 to 2004 was ‘Friends.’  The series was cherished for decades and it is still aired as repeats which are keeping fans happy.

Now the good news is that the star cast will come together for an exclusive in HBO Max. The cast will become the actual “soundstage, Stage 24 at the Warner Bros. Studio in Burbank, C.A” to celebrate it once again.

It is confirmed that all six including Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, David Schwimmer will be present for the reunion. Further sources add that each of them will be paid a whopping sum of $2.5 million for appearing on the show.

The specials have been expected highly when HBO Max had been making rounds on this since last fall after the WarnerMedia took the rights from Netflix and gave it to HBO Max.

The entire 236 episodes of the series will be available on the streaming platform. This is to captivate online subscribers as HBO Max is making its debut in online. Further, reports stated that “Friends” was the most viewed series on Netflix earlier.  And the series has been remaining the most sought after to be aired amidst online streaming firms post-it left Netflix.

Moreover, the chief content officer of HBO Max and President of TBS, TNT Kevin Reilly said that: “Guess you could call this the one where they all got back together — we are reuniting with David, Jennifer, Courteney, Matt, Lisa, and Matthew for an HBO Max special that will be programmed alongside the entire ‘Friends’ library.”

Adding to this he stated that: “I became aware of ‘Friends’ when it was in the very early stages of development and then had the opportunity to work on the series many years later and have delighted in seeing it catch on with viewers generation after generation. It taps into an era when friends – and audiences – gathered together in real-time and we think this reunion special will capture that spirit, uniting original and new fans.”

The special show will be directed by Ben Winston and produced along with ‘Friends’ producers Kevin Bright, Marta Kauffman, and David Crane.
