For the first time in almost half a decade, Top 10 songs of 2022 in UK had mostly British artists. Why is this special? Well, ever since the year-end charts were introduced 50 years ago, no UK signers dominated it.
Finally, the released list this year has Harry Styles’ As It Was, two songs by Ed Sheeran and new artists such as South London songwriter Cat Burns and Scottish dance duo LF System.
Another notable topper was Kate Bush, whose 1985 single Running Up That Hill topped the UK singles chart last year after being featured in Netflix drama Stranger Things.
