- Hopkin’s early childhood dream is to become a pianist. However, he got inspiration from Welsh actor Richard Burton to pursue acting at 15. Later, he joined a Young Men’s Christian Association(YMCA) drama club and received a scholarship for further studies.
- He was one of the victims of alcohol. Hopkin turned into an alcoholic addict when he was ashamed of his luck in the acting industry. He almost died drinking and the alcohol affected his work leading him to quit drinking in 1975.
