Though it is known that the pop icon keeps her mum when it comes to politics, she has now opened for the very first time. This is posting the impact of George Floyd’s death that has been causing outrage across the nation. That being told the ongoing ‘Black Lives Matter’ is no exemption.
Taylor Swift has been requesting her fans to vote while raising her voice out on the POTUS and brutal cops. She desires for a new administration that will eradicate racial inequality and change the current system that has ended up the life of the black man George Floyd and other black lives before him ruthlessly.
She tweeted yesterday stating: “Racial injustice has been ingrained deeply into local and state governments, and changes MUST be made there. In order for policies to change, we need to elect people who will fight against police brutality and racism of any kind. #BlackLivesMatter.”
She also shared a post from the former president Barack Obama titled ‘How to Make this Moment the Turning Point For Real Change,’ asking her fans that ‘This article is a fascinating read about changing policy at the state and local levels.’
Adding to this she posted a link to Vote.org also emphasizing that ‘We need to fight for mail-in voting for the 2020 election. No one should have to choose between their health and having their voice heard.’
