Well, for now, he’ll be moving to a new live streaming platform.
YouTube star Felix Arvid Ulf Kjellberg of PewDiePie fame will be taking a break from YouTube and switching onto a new live streaming platform dlive. Dlive is a blockchain based video streaming platform that doesn’t make any money for itself and all the money made goes to the support of creators. For example, twitch, another popular live streaming platform takes a 50% cut off the revenue made by creators. Dlive doesn’t take any cut.
The YouTuber was recently mired in controversy when the shooter in the NewZealand shooting mentioned Pewdiepie, referring to his views on white supremacy. Pewdiepie’s content often normalizes white supremacy and gets him into trouble. There was even a change.org petition requesting YouTube to ban PewDiePie.
Felix will have his first live stream on dlive on Sunday, April 14th at 10 am.
