Reason Behind Natalie Portman and Benjamin Millepied Divorce

In 2010, Portman and Millepied met on the set of the movie, “Black Swan,” which led Portman to get an Oscar for Best Actress. Benjamin Millepied, the film’s choreographer, helped Portman learn ballet sequences for her role. She also won the Best Actress Golden Globe Award for the same role. 

After dating for about a year, Portman and  Millepied got engaged and expected their first child. Two months after announcing their engagement, the couple made their red carpet-debut in 2011. Portman gave birth to their first child the same year. On 4th August 2012, the couple got married. In 2017, they both welcomed their second child, Amalia. 

In June 2023, rumors spread that Millepied was having an affair with Camille Étienne, a climate activist. Despite the alleged rumor, Portman remained committed to her marriage. In 2024, Portman opened up about her marriage to Vanity Fair, “It’s terrible, and I have no desire to contribute to it.” 

 

In July 2023, she quietly filed for divorce to end her marriage of 11 years. In March 2024, the divorce was finalized in France.
