Maldives cops arrest 26-year-old British TV star for wearing a bikini in the Maldives. The reality star, Cecilia Jastrzembska appears in popular TV shows like “First Dates” and “Ninja Warrior UK”. Reports claim that she accused three male cops of sexually assaulting her.
According to cops, Cecilia was found strolling past a mosque and school area wearing a bikini in Maafushi which is illegal according to Maldives law. The news came as a big surprise as many believed that Maldives beaches are often perceived as bikini destinations. However, in reality, Maldives island has some strict Muslim Sharia laws which make it illegal to wear a bikini or revealing outfits except certain designated beaches.
“You are sexually assaulting me!” she yells at the three officers as her male friend tries to cover part of her body with a small towel.
“Anyone who gets in my personal space I’m going to have a problem with,” she is heard screaming.
“Tourists on local islands are requested to respect the community’s cultural sensitivities and local regulations by restricting the wearing of swimwear to certain areas of the island where local communities live,” police said, according to the UK’s Standard.
“Maldives Police Services sincerely apologizes to the tourist and the public for the regretful manner in which this incident took place.”
