Apart from ‘Legendary’ jokes which made us binge-watch the series, the sitcom How I Met Your Mother taught us valuable lessons. From Ted to Barney, each tried their best to convey the facts of life humorously.
Success doesn’t happen overnight
We watched Robin trying harder to get her dream job, becoming a news anchor at a famous network. Marshall, being a corporate lawyer, worked hard to become a Judge. So do Ted, Lily and Barney. But nobody succeeded overnight, it took years to find their feet before the run. Each character attained the destination unrushed.
Winning isn’t what matters
The funny couple Marshall and Lily had brawled many times, yet they pause and stick to each other. They taught us it’s not about winning, it’s all about compromise in a relationship.
You cannot design your life like a building
In the season 4 finale, Ted seems to be disappointed as he thinks his life sucks, no matter what he plans nothing happens, be it work or relationship. Lily gives him the best advice,” you can’t design your life like a building.. You have to live it and it will design itself”. Damn true! Sometimes we have to go with the flow.
It’s worth the wait
Ted dated so many girls, yet he was looking for something that makes life worth living. He waited so many years and coincidentally he met his better half who turned out to be the mother of his two children. Finally, it’s worth the wait.
