Netflix’s viral series, Squid Game, is now caught in a new controversy over an editing blunder that’s making rounds on the internet.
On Monday, January 6, a viewer took to X to share a moment from season 2, writing:
“Someone is getting fired from the Squid Game team after one of the cameramen was spotted in the background mid-episode.”
The clip in question shows a gunfight scene where a change in angles unexpectedly reveals a cameraman in the corner.
However, some fans of Squid Game are brushing off the mistake, noting that the series itself is a “show within a show,” meaning the camera operator could have been intentionally left as part of the meta storytelling.
After the Korean survival thriller became a global sensation in 2021, fans eagerly awaited the next chapter, which finally arrived with season 2.
Despite the excitement, many viewers were left disappointed after the three-year wait, as the editing oversight overshadowed the return to the intense competition.
Netflix has yet to address the issue. Meanwhile, the highly anticipated third and final season is expected to debut in 2025, though an official release date has not been confirmed.
