Kirstie Alley Dies At Her Home In Florida After A Private Battle With Cancer

Kirstie Alley died due to colon cancer

Finally, the reason for Kirstie Alley’s demise was publicly disclosed. Her death certificate, which The ‘Us Weekly’ was able to obtain, indicated that the 71-year-old passed away in her Clearwater, Florida, home. After a personal fight with colon cancer, the actress passed away on December 5. With her legendary performance as Rebecca Howe in the NBC sitcom “Cheers,” the Golden Globe winner rose to fame. 

“To all our friends, far and wide around the world… We are sad to inform you that our incredible, fierce and loving mother has passed away after a battle with cancer, only recently discovered. She was surrounded by her closest family and fought with great strength, leaving us with a certainty of her never-ending joy of living and whatever adventures lie ahead. As iconic as she was on screen, she was an even more amazing mother and grandmother,” statement given by her children True Parker and Little Parker.

Kirstie Alley, ‘Drop Dead Gorgeous’ fame, dies on Dec 5, at 71

Kirstie Alley, the versatile actress best known for her iconic role as Rebecca in the NBC sitcom Cheers, died on December 5, battling cancer at Moffitt Cancer Centre in Florida, US. She was 71 years old.

In a statement given to PEOPLE, Alley’s children announced their mother’s death from cancer on Monday, “We are sad to inform you that our incredible, fierce and loving mother has passed away after a battle with cancer, only recently discovered.” 

“She was surrounded by her closest family and fought with great strength, leaving us with a certainty of her never-ending joy of living and whatever adventures lie ahead,” the statement continued, “As iconic as she was on screen, she was an even more amazing mother and grandmother.”

Veronica’s closet(1997-2000), Kirstie (2013-2014), and Scream Queens (2015-2016) are some of her notable television shows. The movie names she has performed are Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (1982), Summer School (1987), Look Who’s Talking (1989), It Takes Two (1995), and Drop Dead Gorgeous (1999).

In 2010, a reality TV series  Kirstie Alley’s Big Life based on her real life was broadcasted.

All the actors and friends from the industry are showering love on her demise.

Alley’s friend and costar John Travolta paid tribute to his friend posting, “Kirstie was one of the most special relationships I’ve ever had. I love you Kirstie, “captioning the photo of the star, “I know we will see each other again.”
