The 42-year-old entertainment reality star Kim Kardashian got her hands on the diamond-encrusted Amethyst Attallah Cross pendant of the late Princess Diana, who died in 1997 at the age of 36.
Kim bought the pendant for $197,453 at Sotheby’s annual Royal and Noble auction. Sotheby London’s Head of Jewellery, Kristian Spofforth said in a statement, “This is a bold piece of jewelry by its size, color, and style which cannot fail to make a vibrant statement, whether it be of faith or fashion — or indeed both. We are delighted that this piece has found a new lease of life within the hands of another globally famous name.”
The cross was owned by businessman Naim Attallah from Garrard in the 1980s. Attallah loaned to Diana the necklace on several occasions. The necklace was worn by Princess Diana for a 1987 charity gala in London. She paired the stunning neckpiece with a purple Victorian velvet long gown designed by Catherine Walker.
According to a press release the pendant is described as a cross-shaped pendant, a bold and colorful piece set with square-cut amethysts and accented by circular-cut diamonds. “The cross has a total diamond weight of approximately 5.25 carats and measures approximately 136 x 95mm. It is understood that the cross was only ever worn by the princess, and following her death, it was never seen in public again until now.”

Kim said that she is “really proud” of herself for the achievement. “For anyone who doesn’t know my law school journey, know this wasn’t easy or handed to me. I failed this exam 3 times in 2 years, but I got back up each time and studied harder and tried again until I did it!!!” Kim said.
Kim had attended the exam for the third time with a 104 degree fever and failed miserably. The KUWTK alum took the modern way with a lower pass percentage to pass law school over the traditional one. This requires her to pass two exams in California and she shared the good news of her passing the first exam after a 4th try on social media on 13th December 2021.
Kim began pursuing law to fulfill her father Robert Kardashian’s dream of making one of his daughters a lawyer just like him.
