Bradley Cooper is going to star in Steven Spielberg’s next film. He will be playing the character of Frank Bullitt, the San Francisco cop. The same character sketch was carried to perfection by Steve McQueen in the action-thriller ‘Bullitt’ in the year 1968.
Josh Singer, ‘Spotlight (2015)’ fam writer has been roped in, to pen down the screenplay for the film. The movie is in its development stage at Warner Bros. It is expected that a totally different plot is planned, not similar to that of McQueen’s original.
The original Bullitt film was based on the 1963 novel ‘Mute Witness,’ directed by Peter Yates, and was released by Warner Bros. the film is famous for a car chasing scene in it. It got a great critical acclamation from the audience and earned an Academy Award for best screen editing. In 2007, the film was chosen to be preserved in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress.
Along with portraying the iconic character, Cooper will also be producing the movie along with Spielberg and Kristie Macosko Krieger. Chad McQueen (McQueen’s son) and Molly McQueen (McQueen’s granddaughter) will be collaborating with the crew as executive producers.
The veteran actor is busy in the post-production of the highly anticipated movie ‘Maestro.’ He is directing and producing the movie along with starring in it.
