Ariana Grande’s Petal has made a major comeback on the Billboard Vinyl Albums chart, jumping from No. 25 all the way to No. 1. The album now has two weeks at the top of the vinyl ranking, giving Grande another chart milestone just two months after Petal was released.
The latest chart movement also adds to what has already been a strong run for Grande’s eighth studio album.
Ariana Grande’s Petal Jumps 24 Spots
Petal made one of the biggest moves on the latest Vinyl Albums chart, climbing 24 positions from No. 25 to No. 1. The album had previously reached the summit and now returns to the top for a second week. Billboard’s September 26 chart lists Petal with six weeks on the ranking and two weeks at No. 1.
The vinyl resurgence appears to have been helped by physical copies becoming available and shipping to fans, according to Forbes.
Petal Adds Another Chart Milestone for Ariana Grande
With its second week at No. 1, Petal now matches two other Grande-related releases for two weeks at the top of the Vinyl Albums chart.
Those albums are Eternal Sunshine and Wicked: For Good.
Grande’s longest-running No. 1 on the vinyl ranking remains Wicked: The Soundtrack, which spent three weeks at the top.
The latest achievement also gives Grande nine top 10 appearances on the Vinyl Albums chart, including Dangerous Woman, Positions, Sweetener and Thank U, Next.
Petal Is Still Selling Strong
The album climbs to No. 2 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart, which measures traditional album purchases across physical and digital formats. It had been at No. 3 the previous week.
On the Billboard 200, however, Petal slips to No. 7. It also falls to No. 18 on the Top Streaming Albums chart.
That gives the album an interesting mix of chart movement. While its overall Billboard 200 position has dipped, its physical sales have given it another week at No. 1 on the vinyl ranking.
