The Prince and Princess of Wales are packing up again! William, Kate, and their three children — George, Charlotte, and Louis — are set to move into Forest Lodge, an eight-bedroom home tucked away in Windsor Great Park, later this year.
A Kensington Palace spokesperson confirmed the news, saying simply: “The Wales family will move house later this year.”
The family’s current home, Adelaide Cottage, is just a stone’s throw from their new residence. While Adelaide was cozy and charming, Forest Lodge offers a little more space — and privacy — for the growing royal family.
Earlier this month, local council documents revealed minor renovations were approved for the property, including fireplace works and the removal of a window. Interestingly, the lodge already underwent a £1.5 million ($2 million) restoration in 2001, showcasing its grandeur with original stonework, ornate plaster cornices, and intricate ceiling designs.

This move comes at a poignant time. Kate Middleton, who bravely shared her cancer diagnosis last year, has been easing back into public life after completing chemotherapy. She told well-wishers in September that she was “doing what I can to stay cancer-free.”
For the Wales family, Forest Lodge could represent not just a new home, but also a fresh chapter — one of stability, healing, and family life after what has been an emotionally heavy period.
This isn’t the first big relocation for the couple. Back in 2022, when they were still the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, William and Kate moved their family out of London to give their children a more “normal” upbringing during the school term.
With this latest move, the royals are once again reshaping their version of “home.” And if history tells us anything, the world will be watching closely.
