Top players witnessed unexpected downfall for the first time in 4 years as per Forbes 2020 due to the novel coronavirus pandemic. Various sporting events called off or postponed after decades after World War II.

The top 100 highest-paid sports stars had a net worth of only $3.6 billion for 2020 which is less than 9% compared to 2019 and 2016 downfall after boxing stars Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao titled the results to $400 million payment in 2015 “Fight of the Century” pay-per-view bout.

But the ace tennis icon Rodger Federer managed to top the list with $106 million pushing the previous toppers Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi who had been consistently swapping the No.1 position in the past 4 years.

The soccer stars had a whole net worth of $209 million in the last 12 months and a $28 million fall from last year because of salary cuts which were witnessed in several European football clubs when various leagues were stopped in March.

Rodger who is known to have the best ads profile in sports is the 9th sportsperson to top the first place after 1990 since the time Forbes started tracking sports stars net worths.  And he is also the first to enter the 100 million dollar club at his 30’s and credit goes to Uniqlo, Credit Suisse, Mercedes-Benz, and so on.

Ronaldo had gained his profits through his endorsements like Nike, Altice, Herbalife, and his own branding CR7 whereas Messi had his $32 million from Adidas, MasterCard, and PepsiCo.
