Three reasons why people prefer the Joker than the Batman

Many critics consider the successful portrayal of the Joker in The Dark Knight was the seed for the establishment of both the Marvel Cinematic Universe as well as DC

When it came to Gotham City and its fair share of stories, Batman has always been the guardian at any and all crisis and the various portrayals across decades of comic strips and movies have kept reaffirming that narrative.

The Dark Knight by Christopher Nolan has been a milestone in the superhero genre of film-making and has arguably changed the way such fantasy movies were to be made.

Many critics consider the successful portrayal of the Joker in The Dark Knight was the seed for the establishment of both the Marvel Cinematic Universe as well as DC Extended Universe based superhero franchise movies.

Here are three reasons why the Joker was celebrated to the extent as if that was the protagonist of the movie and the theme at large thereafter

  • In a superhero surreal movie universe, Joker brought to the perspective of how someone who does not have the typical elements of superhero antagonists can still instill a high degree of fear in the movie, making people realize the limitations of the superhero per se.
  • The Joker devised ingenious situations that forced Batman into great ethical dilemmas that make the audience wonder if Joker was a villain after all.

The very creation & runaway success of the titular movie Joker in 2019 made no one miss a Batman to keep him in check.
