Quarantine has got us all glued to our mobile screens to virtually hang out with friends. But, the social messaging app was apparently down since Wednesday morning. Thousands reported about not being able to send snaps and trouble logging in.
The reason for Snapchat going down might be due to the sudden spike in the number of users during the period of lockdown. The official Twitter page of the picture-sharing app left a tweet about them trying to solve the problem. “We’re aware many Snapchatters are having trouble using the app. Hang tight – we’re looking into it”, it said.
The hashtag #snapchatdown soon started trending on Twitter at the number 1 spot. Users from the U.S, Australia, and Europe were the ones who faced issues with the app. Of course, it is quite frustrating when the app you rely on during the self-isolation period goes down all of a sudden.
