Are rumors considered true? Ashlee confirms the charges.
In 2005, Simpson-Ross discharged the tune as the lead single from her sophomore collection, I Am Me. At the time, she denied whispers that the melody was about Lohan and Wilmer Valderrama. “It’s not around one individual specifically. It’s simply something each young lady can identify with,” she told MTV. “It’s a tune about [how] each young lady out there some of the time supposes you stole her beau. It’s simply ridiculing that.” Later, in a meeting with Ryan Seacrest on Larry King Now, the artist clarified, “It’s exceptionally middle school, secondary school, school, and so forth, the circumstance. Also, it’s me sort of ridiculing something I experienced. To the extent saying who the melody I composed it about, or whatever, I’m not doing that with this record…” Seacrest noticed that Simpson-Ross smiled each time she said it’s not in regards to anybody specifically—which, obviously, made her grin more.
