Bruce Lee a prominent actor in the ’70s is a martial arts expert and has contributed various films in Hollywood and as well as in his native films. The recent hype is that Lees’ daughter Shannon has slammed director Quentin Tarantino for degrading her father in the movie Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

The film is based on the ’60s and was Bruce Lee’s character is defamed. Shannon stated that: “Bruce Lee comes across as an arrogant asshole who was full of hot air, and not someone who had to fight triple as hard as any of those people did to accomplish what was naturally given to so many others.”

In addition, she spoke saying: “It was really uncomfortable to sit in the theatre and listen to people laugh at my father.”

Bruce passed away in the year 1973 but was a reigning star as his movies made a huge sum at the box office. Though he was successful in Hong Kong he struggled to create a niche in Hollywood.

When the recent movie was helmed by Tarantino and portrayed by Mike Moh which was stated as “Caricature.” The movie focuses on a scene where he confronts Cliff Booth played by Brad Pitt to get into a fight with him. When they fight Cliff wins over him.

As per Lee’s daughter’s statement, Bruce never fought with actors who were not trained in martial arts and she said that: “[But] here, he’s the one with all the puffery and he’s the one challenging Brad Pitt which is not how he was.”

She also said: “I can understand all the reasoning behind what is portrayed in the movie. I understand that the two [lead] characters are antiheroes, and this is sort of like a raging fantasy of what would happen … and they’re portraying a period that clearly had a lot of racism and exclusion,” she said. “I understand they want to make the Brad Pitt character this super-badass who could beat up Bruce Lee. But they didn’t need to treat him in the way that white Hollywood did when he was alive.”

Shannon resides as the president of Bruce Lee Foundation and Chief Executive Bruce Lee Entertainment.
