‘Shine bright like a diamond’, no one can forget these beautiful lines from the master number ‘diamonds(2012)’ by the rockstar Rihanna. After six years of the singer’s solo track ‘Anti(2016)’, she released a new song which is a tribute to world renowned-loved actor Chadwick Boseman, The Black Panther(2018) actor who died due to colon cancer in 2020, a huge loss for Black Panther fans.
The new lead track ’Lift Me Up,’ for the most anticipated movie ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever(2022)’ was released on Friday (Oct,28). This movie is a sequel next to Black Panther in the Marvel universe.
‘Burning in a hopeless dream, Hold me when you go to sleep, Keep me in the warmth of your love, When you depart, keep me safe, Safe and sound’ starts with her single voice and then along with the chorus ‘Lift me up, Hold me down, Keep me close, Safe and sound’
The song is produced by Oscar winner, Ludwig Goransson. The track was recorded in five different countries. ‘Lift Me Up,’ is a creation from Tems, Goransson, Rihanna, and the sequel director Ryan Coogler in the remembrance of Boseman’s legacy. The song exhibits a spiritual touch of experiencing loss and grief.
“After speaking with Ryan and hearing his direction for the film and the song, I wanted to write something that portrays a warm embrace from all the people that I’ve lost in my life,” said Temilade Openiyi, Tems, the Nigerian singer, “I tried to imagine what it would feel like if I could sing to them now and express how much I miss them. Rihanna has been an inspiration to me so hearing her convey this song is a great honor”.
Rihanna NAVY is in 9 clouds, excited and showering their alluring love for inspirational music from the singer and crew.
Rihanna Headlining the 2023 Super Bowl Halftime
It’s official! Rihanna will take center stage at Glendale, Arizona confirms the NFL
After years of ‘exile’, it’s what fans are calling as Rihanna hadn’t publicly performed since 2018, the Grammy-winning singer is suiting up to dazzle at the 2023 Super Bowl halftime show. She announced this via a tweet that went viral. The tweet contained her recognizable tattooed hand holding an NLF ball to confirm that she will be performing at the Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show—the biggest event in American football—in February 2023.
Rihanna previously turned down the invitation to perform at the 2019 Super Bowl in solidarity with Colin Kaepernick, who at the time protested against police brutality towards black Americans by kneeling down for the national anthem during matches.
Super Bowl is the most prominent American sports event and has millions of viewers. During the halftime show, a number of well-known performers have taken to the stage in past. Rihanna will be joining the likes of previous halftime performers like Michael Jackson, Prince, Beyoncé, Missy Elliott, Lady Gaga, Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, Madonna, Bruce Springsteen, and many more.
