Dennis Turner who works as a reserve officer in a school was terminated after he arrested two 6-year-olds.The Orlando Officials stated that he was thrown out of his position as he arrested these children without the commanding officer’s knowledge.
Inquiry on the incident is on the process, and the commanding officer said that: “This will not stop,” “But at my level, I have the opportunity to be able to exercise that and when I came in today, I knew there was no choice here. He was going to be terminated.”
As per Rolon the chief, he has the right to dismiss Dennis prior to the end of the inquiry process.
He also added saying that officials are ordered to seek his permission before arresting children who are below 12 yrs.
One of the children was arrested for kicking a 5th grader at the Lucious and Emma Nixon Academy in Orlando.
The child’s grandma Meralyn Kirkland has confessed to the police that she is going through Sleep Apnea. As per her statement, a background check was done by an official and the girl was not arrested and sent back to school.
The second kid, who was charged, was for another event that took place in the same school but released to a family member after enquiring.
The chief of Juvenile division stated that he was informed about the incident and he met the boy while he was heading to Juvenile detention and prevented him from going after processing.
Besides, the State Attorney Aramis D. Ayala spoke to the press that the police never had the plan to get hold of these kids and so they were not filed with any charges.
Rolon further said to the media that Dennis had gone through the same incident in his life which had his child which was enquired and processed by other county officials. The charges went on to be true and Turner was warned during that time.
