Remembering 9/11!

The horrifying incident took place in the World Trade Center’s North Tower on New York crushing thousands of people and their families can’t come out of it till today.

The worst nightmare which shook the United States and the world is September 11, 2001.  The horrifying incident took place in the World Trade Center’s North Tower on New York crushing thousands of people and their families can’t come out of it till today.

18 years have passed but remembering those attacks made by the hijackers remain fresh in their memories. In remembrance, the families of their loved ones will be gathering together for their memorial at “ground zero” on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the US President Donald Trump will pay his respect in memory of these victims in the Pentagon. On the other hand, the Vice President, Mike Pence will give his speech at the 3rd attacked location which is close to Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

The President at that time George W. Bush is expected to be at the Pentagon by afternoon.  The consequences of the attack can be clearly seen from the airport security points to Afghanistan, and moreover, a rocket got shattered in the U.S embassy in Afghanistan when the anniversary began. This is the longest war that America fought after 9/11.

A victim called “Christopher Epps sister Chundera Epps stated last year that: “People ask why you stand here, year after year?” She in response said that: “it’s because soldiers are still dying for our freedom and first responders are still dying and being ill.” “We can’t forget. Life won’t let us forget,” she added.

More than 3000 lives were taken while hijackers attacked the trade center and the names of the victims are read during the ceremony held at ground zero. They are honored with moments of silence and clangor of bells which observes the fall of twin towers when the aircraft crashed.

Besides, there have been firefighters, cops and others who lost their lives or been affected by the toxins outcome that had unleashed. Studies continue to find out whether illness caused to these people are related to 9/11 till today. People affected by these toxins are taken care of by the government for their healthcare needs and the US government has allocated a sum of $5.5 billion. Around 51, 00 people have applied for this allowance. After prolonged legal deadlocks and decreasing funds, congress has made sure to increase funds and Trump has now signed the deals this July. Due to this, the affected has earned new acknowledgments this year when the Memorial Glade was devoted this spring.

The homage consists of 6 large granite stones laid “with salvaged trade center steel, with a dedication “to those whose actions in our time of need led to their injury, sickness, and death.”

Further, sources from Pentagon have stated on Monday that the memorial of 9/11 will be shut down the following week for repair works and it is assumed to remain closed till May.

9/11 is also a day of service along with commemoration and patriotism. On this special day, people carry on their good works like “volunteering in food banks, schools, construction projects, cleaning parks, and other noble works.”
