Quentin Tarantino Agrees With Jennifer Aniston About The Marvel Ization Of Hollywood

Oscar-winning director Quentin Tarantino is treading dangerous waters recently for his thoughts on Marvel movies. In November, F.r.i.e.n.d.s star, Jennifer Aniston made headlines when she said, “There are no more movie stars.” Agreeing with her, the Kill Bill creator said the following in the recent episode of 2 Bears, 1 Cave podcast hosted by comedians Bert Kreischer and Tom Segura.

“Part of the Marvel-ization of Hollywood is…you have all these actors who have become famous playing these characters,” Tarantino said. “But they’re not movie stars. Right? Captain America is the star. Or Thor is the star. I mean, I’m not the first person to say that. I think that’s been said a zillion times…but it’s like, you know, it’s these franchise characters that become a star.”

Tarantino also clarified in the same podcast that he does not hate Marvel movies, ““Look, I used to collect Marvel comics like crazy when I was a kid,” he said. “My only axe to grind against them is they’re the only things that seem to be made,”.
