The 21 season of ‘The Voice’ was a grand two-night affair with celebrities and performances across the world. America voted ‘Girl named Tom’ (GNT) sibling group the title winners of the show.
The Liechty sibling trio from Pettisville Ohio comprises Caleb 26, Joshua 24, and Bekah 20. Bekah told the press that they were initially “honored to have had this experience” and “Then to have America vote us through to the finale as the first trio, it’s just like, ‘What?!’”. She completed by saying “We’re so humbled and grateful, and it really has given us a new confidence.”
The trio was coached by Kelly Carlson. Carlson has had three other winning students in prior seasons of the show too. The trio surpassed several other tough competitors during their journey towards the cup. Team Kelly’s Hailey Mia, Team Blake’s Paris Winningham, and Jershika Maple from team John Legend were a few of the notable competitors.
Kelly had posted on her Instagram a picture of the trio captioned “New group name alert — GNTK ?!!” she joked. “Y’all are incredible and it was amazing getting to share the stage with you!” on Tuesday night just ahead of the show to promote them. The trio sang “The Chain” and “Baby Now That I’ve Found You”. Their harmony was one of the important reasons that secured a win on the show.
Minutes before the siblings could take home their win, bekah added that “Kelly, you have really believed in us since day one and that’s helped us believe in ourselves. She pointed out our strengths and helped us strengthen them. And thank you so much for every little thing.”
