Upcoming MCU Movies in 2025
It’s all go for Marvel Movies this year! As Marvel Studios has already introduced Phase 5 of the MCU in 2023, the timeline is now progressing into Phase 6. With the end of the Multiverse Saga approaching, a few Marvel movies are set to be released in 2025. The plotlines established in Phases 4 and 5 are expected to continue in the upcoming MCU movies. Here’s a list of Marvel movies that are slated for release this year.
1. Captain America: Brave New World
The fourth part of Captain America: Brave New World is set to be released on February 14, 2025. As part of the MCU Captain America movie is now led by Anthony who played Sam Wilson in the MCU. Sam was given the shield at the end of Avengers: Endgame and officially took on the mantle by the end of Falcon and the Winter Soldier. This will be Anthony’s first solo in the MCU. Based on the trailer, this movie is said to be a political thriller, with one plot point featuring Isaiah Bradley. The trailer also offers a glimpse of Captain America’s new helmet as he flies at supersonic speeds.
2. Thunderbolts
Marvel’s first team-focused MCU movie “Thunderbolts” is set to release in 2025. The movie assembles some past characters from the MCU movies who haven’t been on the right side of history. The Thunderbolts team will be led by Bucky Barnes (The Winter Soldier), played by Sebastian Stan. Other members include Black Widow aka Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), Wyatt Russell as John Walker aka U.S. Agent, David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov aka Red Guardian, Hannah John-Kamen as Ava Starr aka Ghost, and Olga Kurylenko as Antonia Dreykov aka Taskmaster. Thunderbolts is set for release on May 2, 2025, according to Marvel Studios.
3. The Fantastic Four: First Steps
After Disney took some of the Fox Films films and TV assets back in 2019, Marvel Studios announced The Fantastic Four movie, focusing on one of Marvel’s most iconic superhero teams. The movie is set in the 1960s, as these heroes haven’t been mentioned in previous MCU projects. They will appear as The Fantastic Four from another universe in the Multiverse. The main cast includes Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards aka Mister Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm aka The Invisible Woman, and more. With Robert Downey Jr. playing Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, he might also appear in this film before those movies. The Fantastic Four movie is slated for release on Friday, July 25, 2025, two weeks after James Gunn’s Superman hits theaters.
4. Spider-Man – Beyond the Spider-Verse
The conclusion to Sony’s animated Miles Morales trilogy, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, is set to be released in 2025. A release date is likely to be announced this year. Picking up where Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse left off, this movie will continue the story of Miles Morales, who has been captured by another version of himself—one that became the Prowler. The story will continue with Miles’ friend Gwen Stacy, who has assembled a team of his friends and allies to help rescue him. Miles is also being pursued by Miguel O’Hara, aka Spider-Man 2099.
