Fleetwood Mac’s Christine McVie died at 79

The ‘Hold Me’ singer passes after a short illness

Christine McVie of Fleetwood Mac, a popular British American rock band, passed away on Wednesday at 79. She was a singer, songwriter, and keyboardist. McVie’s family posted on Facebook that she died in her family’s company in a hospital after suffering from a short illness. The statement said,

“We kindly ask that you respect the family’s privacy at this extremely painful time and we would like everyone to keep Christine in their hearts and remember the life of an incredible human being, and revered musician who was loved universally. RIP Christine McVie.”

Tracks like ‘Everywhere,’ ‘Hold Me,’ ‘You Make Loving Fun,’ and ‘Songbird’ are a few of Christine’s most notable works. She was a member of the Chicken Shack band before John McVie’s hands in marriage. McVie joined the Fleetcook Mac group in 1970. The couple parted ways in 1976, but they continued to work together as a band and came up with ‘Rumours’ in 1977, one of the most iconic albums, which sold 40 million copies.

The singer then married Eddy Quintella in 1986, who co-wrote the lyrics of ‘Little lies.’ The couple divorced in 2003. Despite leaving the band in 1998, her solo album was released in 2004, and she rejoined the group on the 2014 tour.

Losing such a legend has deeply saddened the music industry and the members of Fleetwood Mac. McVie will live eternally through every track with her soulful voice and lyrics.
