Kristen Stewart Career-Best Performance Isn’t Enough To Save ‘The Underwater’!

Excellent acting skills were exhibited by Kristen Stewart who must have taken an impression from the lead role, Ellen Ripley from the legendary movie Aliens.

Underwater is the first Sci-fi movie of this year which hit the screens on January 10. The plot reveals 7 miles under the Pacific Ocean where an underwater drilling operation is afoot. After a disastrous undersea earthquake wrecks the mining station, Engineer Norah, (Kristen Stewart) has to lead the group of survivors along with their captain (Vincent Cassel) to safety.

They have to walk their way across the ocean floor to another. There are a lot of dangers waiting to take their lives in this mysterious journey which takes place in the dark and grimy water with a high possibility of running out of oxygen, lungs collapsing due to underwater pressure and getting killed or gulped by giant creepy shadowy creatures.

Excellent acting skills were exhibited by Kristen Stewart who must have taken an impression from the lead role, Ellen Ripley from the legendary movie Aliens. The movie Underwater is not exactly a direct rip off of Aliens but it has many features and dimensions. It has a strong influence on the movie Aliens and The Abyss (remember the underwater expedition and the monstrous creature from this 1989 movie?) Apart from Kristen Stewart’s commanding performance the movie Underwater simply accommodates itself in the row of other cliché Sci-fi movies like The Rift, Sphere, The Rig, etc.
