Legendary Actor John Saxon Passes Away At 83!

John who is best known for his movies like ‘A Nightmare On Elm Street’ dies on July 25^th in Murfreesboro, Tennessee and he was 83.

The star’s wife Gloria officially confirmed it to sources and stated that he was suffering from pneumonia.

Larry Karaszewski producer and writer shared a tribute to John and tweeted: ‘I had the good fortune to host John Saxon at the American Cinematheque – screening his Bruce Lee epic “Enter the Dragon” and the Marlon Brando western “The Appaloosa,” for which Saxon earned a Golden Globe nomination. He was a great guy full of stories.’

Further Joe Dante filmmaker of Gremlins stated that: ‘RIP John Saxon. I had the privilege of working with him once in 2006. Very good actor, very nice guy.’

Nancy Sinatra just wrote: ‘Godspeed, Johnny.’

Being an Italian-American origin he came from Brooklyn, New York he was best known for his incredible roles that he portrayed in all his films.

He was nominated for the Golden Globe for his role as Mexican robber in the movie ‘The Appaloosa (1966)’ in which he has seen opposite legendary star, Marlon Brando. Further in the famous TV show Dynasty, John played Middle Eastern rich businessman Rashid Ahmed who falls for Alexis Colby portrayed by Joan Collins.

Few other series he played include “The Doctors, Falcon Crest, The Bold Ones, etc.”

He was also part of Bruce Lee’s ‘Enter The Dragon’ movie which was Lee’s last movie before his death at 32.

Though he was not that good with his fighting skills, he stated once to a source that Bruce Lee ‘took me seriously. I would tell him I would rather do it this way, and he’d say, “OK, try it that way”.’

Saxon is said to be married thrice and first, it was with screenplay writer Mary Ann Murphy, actress Elizabeth Saxon and Cosmetician Gloria Martel in 2008 until his demise.

Saxon shares son Antonia with Gloria and he has a sister Delores.
