Felicity Huffman Will Be Back on Screens in Upcoming Comedy!

She was charged for her “involvement in college admission scandal.”

The actress who’s known for acting in the movie and television series “Desperate Housewives” was imprisoned for a college admission scandal and served a 14-day sentence in FCI Dublin prison in 2019.

Now the actress was all set to make a comeback to her acting career by landing on a role in an upcoming comedy for ABC.

The name of the TV series written by Becky Hartman Edwards is not yet finalized and the actress has signed the contract when Aaron Kaplan, the CEO of Kaplan Entertainment pitched the story to her.

One of the prominent actresses with numerous accolades in Hollywood is Felicity Huffman. The buzz is that she has been charged for her “involvement in college admission scandal.”

As per the verdict and the written statements released by the court, received “by Us Weekly” the actress has been sentenced to month imprisonment following a 12-month supervised release and to pay a sum of $20,000.

The 56 yr old was found guilty and was arrested in March with “conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services fraud” later to which she appeared in May. The star of Desperate Housewives was supposedly making “a purported charitable contribution of $15,000 … to participate in the college entrance exam cheating scheme on behalf of her eldest daughter.”

The actress is married to William H. Macy and has two daughters Sophia and Georgia who are 19 and 17 respectively. The verdict came like whirlwind on their wedding anniversary.

As per reports, Huffman was ensuring to avoid going to prison in the month of July as much as possible. Sources say that she is hoping that she would be an ideal person “for a halfway house instead of prison confinement.” But now she is ready to go behind bars if the court orders to do so.

The convicted actress finally spoke about the verdict in April that: “I am in full acceptance of my guilt, and with deep regret and shame over what I have done, I accept full responsibility for my actions and will accept the consequences that stem from those actions.”

She further added saying that her daughter is unaware of the scandal and that she is ashamed for doing this to her. Besides, she shared her apologies to family, friends, and other parents who worked with honesty to support their children.
