Zendaya Remixes Her The Odyssey Look With Jeans

The actress showed up at Louis Vuitton’s Spring/Summer 2027 show in Paris on October 6 wearing something very familiar: the dramatic ivory lace bolero she first wore during The Odyssey press tour. But this time, Zendaya wasn’t channeling a Greek goddess. She was giving the same couture piece a much more relaxed, street-style makeover, and somehow, it worked just as well.

Zendaya Gives Her Odyssey Look a Casual Twist

For the Louis Vuitton show, Zendaya paired the intricate white lace jacket with a simple white tank top, straight-leg blue jeans and pointed white pumps. The jacket was the star of the outfit, with its oversized ruffles and delicate lace making the otherwise basic jeans-and-tank combination look anything but basic.

When Zendaya originally wore the jacket in July for the Paris premiere of The Odyssey, it came with an equally dramatic Louis Vuitton lace gown. The semi-sheer white dress featured a midriff cutout, high slits and flowing details that gave the entire outfit a goddess-like quality.

The Louis Vuitton Jacket Has a Serious Fashion Resume

The ivory lace bolero wasn’t just another pretty piece pulled from a rack. It was custom-designed by Louis Vuitton creative director Nicolas Ghesquière for Zendaya’s The Odyssey appearance. More than 800 hours reportedly went into creating the original piece, making the decision to bring the jacket back even more satisfying.

Instead of letting such an elaborate piece disappear after one red-carpet appearance, Zendaya and stylist Law Roach found another way to make it work.

The original outfit screamed Greek mythology and Hollywood premiere. The Paris Fashion Week version feels like Zendaya simply decided to throw one of her most elaborate jackets over jeans and head out.

Zendaya Is Getting Very Good at Rewearing Fashion

This isn’t the first time Zendaya has proved that a great fashion moment doesn’t need to happen only once. Earlier this year, she revisited a 2015 Vivienne Westwood Oscars gown during The Drama press tour. The idea was part of the “something old, something new” fashion concept created with Roach.

Now, she’s doing it again with a much quicker turnaround. The Odyssey premiere was only a few months ago, but the Louis Vuitton jacket already feels like a completely different fashion statement. Zendaya isn’t simply wearing the same outfit again. She’s changing the styling, the mood and the entire setting around it.

There is something particularly satisfying about seeing a piece that was designed for an extravagant movie premiere work with something as ordinary as blue jeans. At the Odyssey premiere, the lace jacket belonged to the fantasy. At Louis Vuitton’s Paris show, it belonged to the street.

Zendaya may have left the Odyssey press tour behind, but apparently, she’s not finished with the wardrobe.
