One of the most prestigious fashion events, British Fashion Awards 2019 was held in London Royal Albert Hall on the 2nd of December. It is an annual fashion event aimed at honoring people who have achieved great heights in the fashion industry with their creativity and hard work. This year icons were honored and the super talented debutants were shed a spotlight on.
The star-studded event was hosted by the witty, award-winning American actress and TV anchor Tracee Ellis Ross.
The awards were given under 16 categories and 10 of them were put out for voting. Italian high fashion brand Bottega Veneta won awards in four categories including the brand of the year and designer of the year. 33-year old creative director Danial Lee received these awards and also snatched the award for designer of accessories for this year, 2019.
Isabella Blow Award went to the eminent hairdresser Sam McKnight who had worked with famous brands such as Chanel, Balmain and Burberry. It’s notable that he had been Princess Diana’s hairstylist.
Label Giorgio Armani won the outstanding achievement award. Armani received the award from Hollywood actress Julia Roberts. British supermodel Naomi Campbell was esteemed with the fashion icon of the year 2019.
Rihanna received the urban luxe honor for her lingerie label Fenty. This is her debut for British fashion awards. Korean fashion designer Rejina Pyo and Bethany Williams were recognized as emerging talents while Adut Akech fetched the model of the year award.
The event was glitzy and glamorous with the presence of many celebrities from Hollywood and fashion fraternity. Nightmare Alley actress Cate Blanchett wore Ivory Giorgio Armani Prive to add glam to the event. Game of Thrones actress Emilia Clarke adorned a blazing yellow Schiaparelli gown. Formula 1 racer Lewis Hamilton was seen with his iconic braided hairstyle.
