If you had any dream to take a selfie with the Khaleesi, we might have very bitter news for you. The top GoT star recently requested her fans not to ask her to pose for selfies anymore. While many fans are disappointed because of her stand, it still makes sense that her self-preservation is a priority.
In a recent podcast interview with Jessie Ware, Emilia Clarke revealed that she goes through panic attacks and stress whenever a fan rushes for a selfie all of a sudden. Though she hates to disappoint her fans, she was unable to bear the panic attacks and trauma because of that.
“I was…walking through an airport and I suddenly started having what I can only believe to be a panic attack brought on by complete exhaustion,” Clarke told Ware. “I was on my own, I was on the phone to my mum saying, ‘I feel like I can’t breathe, I don’t know what’s going on.'”
“I’m there and the tears are coming out. I’m crying and crying.”
“This guy’s like, ‘Can I get a selfie?’ And I was like, ‘I can’t breathe, I’m really sorry. Just have a minute.’ It was after a few moments like that where I was like, ‘I don’t know how to do this.’”
“When you do that, you have to have an interaction with that person, as opposed to someone just going, ‘Oi, give us a selfie, goodbye. Then you have a chat and you’re actually having a truthful human-to-human thing, as opposed to it being this other thing that probably isn’t nice for them and isn’t nice to you.”
Apart from this request, she doesn’t have any problem signing the autographs if the fans approach politely without terrifying her. You don’t expect to get into someone’s face demanding their signature and get it, do you?
