Chinese Actress Gets ‘Fat-Shamed’ On Social Media

Cathryn Li, 30, has posted an Instagram story where she stated about body shape as

“M= fat”, and that “anything above M is as sinful as obesity”. … Where the story lasted for 24 hours but it spread rapidly after her followers took screenshots.

30-year-old pianist and actress shared a post with 1.1 million followers that once she was  “size 2/XXS”, and urged women above a size 6 to “[please], stop eating and move your a** to the gym already”. After this post, she became an iconic figure to some memes.

The Malaysian influencer openly encouraged her fans to come under “M” size as she commented that “M” or above as “sinful as obesity”. After that Cathryn, social media personality deleted her Instagram page and on Monday she posted an apology note in both English and Mandarin facebook pages, that reached around 1.65 million followers

She confesses her sinful post by stating that,

“I have offended all my friends, family and supporters with my “M size” post. It was a highly offensive and insensitive post and I’m deeply for the hurt, anger, and disappointment I have caused you.”

Will she be forgiven or will she get her reputation back?
