Flashback: Britney Spears received death threats on Instagram!

On Tuesday evening, Britney Spears addressed rumors of her being held against her will at a mental help center and stated in an Instagram video that her family is receiving death threats from fans. Reports now confirm that the artist checked herself into a wellness facility for mental health treatment earlier this month to help her cope with her father’s declining health.

Fans began the #FreeBritney after rumors spread that the 37-year-old pop star’s father Jamie Spears held Brit against her own will in a mental health institution.

Britney’s father gained sole conservatorship of his daughter’s estate in March after the singer’s attorney, Andrew Wallet, suddenly resigned. Wallet was the dude who (used to) controlled Spears’ finances.

In the clip, she said, “There’s rumors, death threats to my family and my team, and just so many things crazy things being said”. “My situation is unique, but I promise I’m doing what’s best at this moment,” she added. It’s still unclear at this point if she’s actually being held forcibly or if she had voluntarily joined the wellness center.

Fans speculate that the lawyer quit since she was broke. There are also doubts that her parents teamed up together plotting a shady, diabolic scheme against her to sway all her remaining estate and property into their hands. Whatever the truth is, it’s quite unclear at the moment.
