The record producer and music mogul Simon Cowell might be absent for BGT’s final episode.

The news emerges post he broke his spine last month falling from his new electric bike in his Malibu Mansion.

However, it was believed that he may come via video conference for the already halted show but now things look bad and he may not come as of now.

Sources said that: ‘It was decided that the idea of having him judge the BGT finalists via a link was just not feasible – nor sensible.’

‘Everything is fixed, he just needs healing time. Flying halfway across the world is not part of the plan and he has agreed to put his health first.’

Further other sources have also reached out to Simon Cowell reps and BGT for comments.

Meanwhile, the show’s producers are looking for a replacement which is to begin shooting in two weeks. One of the choices was said to be Piers Morgan.

But a source stated that it can’t be Piers ‘due to his ‘spat’ with another judge of BGT David Walliams.

Shooting has been altered to make sure the crew and the contestants can be safe and maintain social distance and the audience will be seen virtually this time.

As live shows are not possible the episodes will be filmed on prior and aired on the usual X-factor Saturday night premiering time.

Moreover, it was told earlier that Simon Cowell was planning to shoot a BGT exclusive in October with his fellow panel of judges Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden, and David Walliams.

Speaking to Sun sources said: ‘Simon Cowell is a total workaholic and even an accident as nasty as he won’t keep him off for long. He’s been working from his home in Los Angeles since the accident happened and is in contact with his team.’

‘The plans for this one-off special of Britain’s Got Talent have been in the pipeline for months and he is convinced he will be well enough to take his place on the panel.’

‘The show will feature some of the best talents from the start of the series in 2007. Simon Cowell has been told to take it easy but he much prefers to be busy. Plus he loves working on BGT, so for him, it’s something to look forward to.’
