Brisbane Family Donates Their Home To Bushfire Victims in Australia

Humanity still exists as Ms. Stephanie Michelle, a Brisbane resident and a mother of one, decided to donate her house to the victims who lost their homes in the Australian bushfire. Nearly 2,000 homes in the forest region of New South Wales were set ablaze by the recent catastrophic happening.

Stephanie, her fiancee Nathan Gill, and son Hudon (3) were planning to demolish their house in Camp Hill, but the family later decided to donate it to people who are badly in need of it. “We had a conversation about how we would feel selfish if we demolished the house. You see all of this devastation and naturally, it pushes you to help”, she told an Australian daily.

The house consists of 2 apartments and ought to be transported in chunks to help a family in need of it. Apparently, a fire chief from the Blue Mountains area of NSW has offered to help the couple with the logistics of moving the house interstate. “It seems like a big task and it will take a little longer than we hoped, but we have to remember that someone else doesn’t have somewhere to live”, she added.

The Australian bushfire that started in December has so far burned nearly 6,300,300 hectares of land killing thousands of animals, birds, and insects. At least 24 people have died and thousands lost their homes in this tragic incident. Several social groups have been helping the victims with food and shelter for now. But, it may take years for them to relive the life they were once living.
