Vanity Fair 2025: Selma Blair’s Service Dog, Scout, Steals the Show

Along with all the celebrities at the Oscars after-party, including Chrissy Teigen, Patricia Clarkson, Laverne Cox,  and Justin Theroux,  joined our little furry friend, Scout. Selma Blair brought her service dog, Scout, to attend the 2025 Vanity Fair Oscar Party. But did you hear that he soon became the star of the evening?

The yellow Labrador posed on the red carpet outside the event with the “Legally Blonde” star as she posed with her sequined, monochrome Monique Lhuillier gown. Blair wore pointy pumps and had slicked-back blond hair. After getting in, Scout got really comfortable at the party. The actress shared a series of pictures in her Instagram Stories showing Scout, wearing an adorable black bow in the evening, cuddling up with all the stars. 

Teigen, a mom of four, looked so smitten by Scout, and in one snap, he is seen sharing a slobbery kiss with “Goodrich” actor, Michael Keaton. In yet another photo, you can see Theroux giving Scout a playful pat behind the ears. “House of Cards” star Patricia Clarkson also hugged Scout on the floor.

Blair also shared a reel of her evening out with Scout, accompanied by Depeche Mode’s tune, “But Not Tonight.” She stated, “Over 25 years of celebrating the Oscars at Vanity Fair. I loved tonight, especially. Scout is a solid date.”She also opened up about living with Scout after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis back in 2018. Blair said that her neurologist recommended that she should consider a service dog for the potential physical and emotional benefits, and she calls the animal a “tremendous gift.”

Blair also mentioned, “He’s with me all the time. If I fall into a big muscle spasm or have some trouble moving, he can get between my legs, help me get up and balance me. It has given me a lot of confidence.” She also added that Scout has “kept her moving and helped her build stamina.”

Scout also received the all important seal of approval from her son, Arthur, 13, whom she shares with her fashion designer ex, Jason Bleick. “My son, when he goes to his dad’s, he loves knowing Scout is by my side,” she revealed.
