If an online platform gets launched and is not part of Roku or Fire TV does it mean it has not got introduced?
Well, officially yes but it’s not the case for some of the US streaming platforms that use Roku or Amazon Fire TV to premiere their shows. The compromises did behind amidst sum big media concerns and tech tycoons have made few of the top streaming platforms away from these.
HBO Max from Warner Media and Peacock from NBC Universal was released without those streamers.
This has several thousand users pretty puzzled about why these can’t be seen in their devices at home. It might be due to the fact that they are budding services and couldn’t get into Amazon or Roku which quite a sting.
“Yes, the streaming service launched, but is it going to be as successful without being there? No way,” Rich Greenfield, a senior media analyst, and partner at LightShed Partners, told The Verge. “The question to me is whether there’s content coming that’s so important that it will drive people to switch devices if they don’t have access to those apps on a certain device.”
Rather these two are available in other ‘smart TVs, PlayStations and Xbox consoles, Chromecast sticks, and Apple TV set-top boxes,’ and so on. That doesn’t mean it can take Roku and Amazon’s power.
As per reports, 44% of them in the U.S watch Roku and 19% with Amazon and both are said to have about 40 million users.
