Jolie and Pitt have kept to themselves when it comes to their divorce. A recent disturbing revelation from Jolie has sent the media in search of the truth. Jolie told “The Guardian” that things went south in her relationship with Pitt after agreeing to partner with Harvey Weinstein, who had previously assaulted her sexually.
Brad was seeking funding from Weinstein for his production company Plan B Entertainments to produce the film “Killing Them Softly” in 2012 even after Jolie had explicitly told him not to associate with Harvey for assaulting her several years ago in the sets of the film “Playing by Heart” in 2002.
“It was beyond a pass, and it was something I had to escape. I stayed away and warned people about him. I remember telling Jonny, my first husband, who was great about it, to spread the word to other guys – don’t let girls go alone with him. I was asked to do The Aviator, but I said no because he was involved. I never associated or worked with him again. It was hard for me when Brad did.”
Weinstein is presently serving a 23-year term for predatory sexual assault and rape. Gwyneth Paltrow and Angelina Jolie were the key witnesses against Weinstein, and coincidentally they were both romantically associated with Pitt.
Paltrow had once shared a cover story for “The New York Times” of the same in 2018 and conveyed how grateful she was for Brad for threatening Harvey Weinstein to stay away from her. Joli expressed that she was highly saddened that Pitt didn’t stand for her and went to make “Inglorious Basterds” with Weinstein in 2018.
At present, the divorced couple is working on legal issues regarding joint ventures. While Jolie is busy with MARVEL’s “Eternals” and her book “Know Your Rights and Claim Them: A Guide for Youth,” she wants her family and Brad to heal emotionally.
