For 2 weeks in a row “Sonic the Hedgehog” is running successfully at the U.S box office besides, Harrison Ford’s “The Call of the Wild.” Sonic a video game based film has made $26.3 million last weekend and on the whole, the movie has earned a sum of $106.5 million.
For a movie adapted from the video game, it’s pretty huge to earn such a sum within 2 weeks. Back earlier video game based movies like “Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life,” did not do that well.
Sonic is said to be the 5th video game based film to cross $100 million in the U.S and it just succeeded within 10 days.
Some of the top video game based movies are
- Pokemon Detective Pikachu ($144.1 million)
- Lara Croft: Tomb Raider ($131.2 million)
- The Angry Birds Movie ($107.5 million)
- Sonic the Hedgehog ($106.5 million)
- Rampage ($101 million) etc.
However, we should be reminded of the recent prices of the tickets which have been increased which is a sum of $ 9.16 approximately. This is just twice the amount of money than before.
