As per Russian sources, Donald Trump played a key role thwarting plans of a terror attack in the Russian city of St. Petersburg.
Russian president Vladimir Putin called up Trump on Sunday and thanked for valuable Intel provided by Washington to Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB). The information helped FSB to nab two Russians who were plotting a terror attack on the eve of New Year.
The two suspects were caught on December 27. According to Kremlin’s official statement, the leaders of two countries have agreed to cooperate to curb terrorism.
US-Russian ties were always on and off, due to and this is a sign that the two countries are on a common front when it came to tackle global terrorism.
The nature of terrorist attack that was thwarted is still unclear and White House is yet to comment on the incident.
