Bad news from Netflix for those who share passwords!

Mar 23, 2021

The Netflix streaming platform is working on a new feature that can crack down password sharing more accurately. If you’re the one who shares Netflix passwords with friends and families, this is your wake-up call.

Apparently, the streaming giant is testing the new method to verify users’ accounts to stop the spread of a password among people, including strangers, and to prevent fraud.

“This test is designed to help ensure that people using Netflix accounts are authorized to do so,” a Netflix spokesperson said in a statement Thursday. The company’s terms of use also say that accounts “may not be shared with individuals beyond your household.”

Given that the competition among the streaming platforms is picking up phase everyday and big players like Disney+, HBO Max, and Hulu were gaining significance by day, Netflix may have found a way to find a way to close all the loopholes of losses. Netflix still tops the streaming race with adding 37 million new customers last year, surpassing 200 million subscribers.

Netflix’s basic plan in the U.S. is about $8.99. As of October, the streamer’s standard plan, which allows viewers to watch on two separate devices simultaneously, increased by $1 to $13.99, while its premium plan, which allows viewers to watch on four devices, rose to $17.99, from $15.99.

“Indian Matchmaking” Makes Traditions Look ‘Burdensome’

Aug 4, 2020

Of course, everybody has binged on it as it talks about Indian people when it’s exclusively created by the whites. This was the case with ‘Family Karma’ a bold reality series that ended its season 1.

It’s quite interesting when a reality series is created for viewers especially on online platforms. The genre speaks mainly about human living from its beautiful doc series to the series where women are seen throwing wine whereas husbands utter anti-gay insults behind them.

The streaming devices series are quite different from Family Karma pointing on the same group of people. But ‘Indian Matchmaking’ has created a niche in the streamers reality dating show.

The perfectly drafted series shows matchmaker Sima Taparia who is seen bringing matches both in India and as well as for Indians in the US. This is a show that seems decent, well-penned on marriage complexes but fails to show ‘shadism, sexism, and casteism.’

In the case of Family Karma shows certain Indian American Kin living near Miami and feuds are cool when compared with other series in the platform.

July 2020

Yes, You Hear It Right! They Are Back!

Netflix has acquired the rights to premiere some of the popular black series of the ’90s and 2000s which has “Moesha, Sister, Sister, and The Parkers, and so on.” If you a 90’s kid then you might have the experience of rushing to your TV to watch these amazing sitcoms.

Those were days when there were very few black television series starring very few black heroines portraying characters that people battled with. If you missed the opportunity to watch these there were repeats in the early 2000s and it never failed to capture the audience.

Their promotions and posters for Sister, Sister was very much fresh as it kept displaying in Disney Channel.

What impacted the most was that these series spoke about issues that every individual battled within that particular age. Sister, Sister saw in secured and less confident twins who get into a lesser-known cheerleading group. They seem worried and low when their parents come to the rescue explaining that it does not matter what others think.

Yet another favorite was Moesha when she is seen getting a Saturn from her father in spite of wanting a Jeep. The overreaction of her reminds that even we should have done the same at some situation.
