Indeed, lying is a tough job and getting caught very soon after the act is brutal. That’s exactly what seemed to have happened with two different stances by President Donald Trump with a mere interval of a few hours. On Saturday, he took to Twitter that his government will not try to screw the Social Security or Medicare programs in their Fiscal 2021 budget.
We will not be touching your Social Security or Medicare in Fiscal 2021 Budget. Only the Democrats will destroy them by destroying our Country’s greatest ever Economy!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 8, 2020
But hours later, he was caught red-handed in a Wall Street Journal which revealed a report that cut spending by $4.4 trillion over a decade. Of that, it targets $2 trillion in savings from mandatory spending programs, including $130 billion from changes to Medicare prescription-drug pricing, $292 billion from safety-net cuts—such as work requirements for Medicaid and food stamps—and $70 billion from tightening eligibility access to disability benefits. Those who got outraged with his moves took to twitter to share their agony,
Trump Last Week: "We won’t be touching your Social Security or Medicare in the 2021 Budget.”
Trump This Week: Releases 2021 Budget, which includes massive cuts to Social Security & Medicare.#TrumpBudget
— $30 billion in cuts to Social Securiy
— $850 billion in cuts to Medicare

So Trump is not touching Medicare, Medicare, and Social Security in the same way he was not touching all those women accusing him of touching them. #TrumpBudget

Remember when Trump promised he would bring in 6 percent growth that would eliminate debt and deficits that Republicans used to pretend they cared about?
Neither does he.

The #TrumpBudget cuts:
– $500,000,000,000 from Medicare.
– $75,700,000,000 from Social Security and its companion program, Supplemental Security Income.
The best way to make sure these cuts never happen?

To the surprise of no one, the #TrumpBudget consists of cuts on the backs of working-class Americans and those living in poverty. #SpoilerAlert: It won't get past me and @HouseDemocrats. And unlike him, we keep our promises. #ForthePeoplehttps://t.co/h14Kc8pfKu
