Comedian Margaret Cho isn’t holding back — and this time, she’s naming names. In a fiery new interview on The Kelly Mantle Show (aired June 18), Cho said it loud and clear: Ellen DeGeneres is not nice. And that’s not just shade — it’s coming from years of personal, awkward, and downright creepy encounters.

They Go Way Back — But Ellen Pretended Not to Know Her?

Margaret Cho says Ellen DeGeneres acted like they never met.

Cho, 56, recalls opening for DeGeneres in the late ‘80s when Ellen was already a big deal on the comedy club scene. Fast forward to the 2000s, Cho appears on The Ellen DeGeneres Show… and Ellen acts like they’ve never met?

“I’m like, ‘B****, what?’” Cho said. “It’s so creepy and weird.”

That David Bowie Moment… Cut from TV?

The most shocking claim? Cho revealed that music legend David Bowie raved about her outfit during a concert. He even went on about it during a taping of Ellen’s show. But guess what? That entire moment was mysteriously cut.

According to Cho, even the show’s producer was stunned.

“She cut it out of the show. But you need to know that he was going on and on about your outfit. He loves you. God said your name.”

Fans on Instagram were quick to rally behind Cho. One wrote, “David Bowie loved your outfit, so you are blessed forever.” Another added, “It speaks volumes that David Bowie loved you but Ellen didn’t.”

Ellen’s Not-So-Kind Reputation Isn’t News…

Celebs call out Ellen DeGeneres for rude behavior

Let’s not forget, Cho isn’t the first celeb to say Ellen DeGeneres is not nice. Remember the 2020 storm of accusations? Brad Garrett, Lea Thompson, and Kathy Griffin all called out Ellen for mistreatment. Since then, Ellen has tried to explain herself — kind of.

In her 2024 stand-up special, Ellen DeGeneres: For Your Approval, she joked:

“Had I ended my show by saying, ‘Go f*** yourselves,’ people would’ve been pleasantly surprised to find out I’m kind.”

Hmm… not exactly the redemption arc fans were hoping for.

With Margaret Cho now adding fuel to the already smoldering fire around Ellen’s off-camera behavior, it’s clear that this story isn’t over yet. Hollywood might’ve embraced the “be kind” mantra, but behind the scenes? Some celebs aren’t buying it — and they’re finally speaking up.
